Sustainability

Our Sustainability Mission

Our mission is to help preserve and pass on Hawaii’s rich natural environment, culture, and communities to the next generation. By sharing the Aloha spirit.

Along with all of our stakeholders, we will promote responsible tourism through Mālama Hawaiʻi and boost regenerative tourism, while contributing to the local economy through a diverse range of businesses.

We are intent on our mission leading us to create a real and lasting value for those who visit Hawaii, as well as those who call it home, for many years to come.

Sustainability Policy

Aiming for a “Kokoro Odoru” future

The HIS Group is developing its business globally under the purview of “Unleash the ‘Excitement’”.

– Encounters with the unknown, connections with people, rich time, excitement, elation, and a desire for peace – these are the premises upon which people around the world can be “enlivened.

We believe that a prerequisite for people around the world to be “inspired” is a society in which diversity is valued and human rights are respected, regardless of nationality, race, culture, or religion, where people around the world can live in peace, and a healthy global environment that is the foundation for all animals and plants, including humans, to live.

In order to realize a society of coexistence, symbiosis, and co-prosperity, we will sincerely address social and environmental issues through the business of the HIS Group and aim for an “exciting” future.

1. Governance and Compliance

In alignment with the HIS Group’s philosophy and code of conduct, we promote fair and transparent management. We strictly comply with the laws, regulations, and internal policies of the regions in which we operate (Hawaii and the United States), while respecting international standards and fulfilling our social responsibility as a member of a global enterprise.

2. Internal Management: Social Policy, Environment, and Health & Safety

We prioritize sustainable management across our organizational structure and all business activities.

3. Supply Chain Objectives

We recognize that sustainability cannot be achieved alone; we pursue it across our entire supply chain.

4. Destination Protection and Contribution to the Local Economy

We are fully committed to protecting and enhancing the value of Hawaii as a world-class destination.

5. Customer Engagement and Awareness

We guide our customers (travelers) to become active participants and leaders in sustainable tourism.
